Sutlej Textiles and Industries, a KK Birla Group company, was awarded ‘Niryat Shree’ Gold trophy for achieving 77 per cent growth in exports in 2009-10. The award was presented by President Pranab Mukerjee. The company produces wide range of poly viscose, poly wool, linen and stretch fabric and supplies to big retailers such as Gap, Levis, CK, TMW, Burton, Next, M&S in the US and the UK. In home textiles, it produces curtains, upholstery and made-ups and sells not only in India but also in 25 countries. The company has a significant presence and exports to more than 60 countries. Sutlej Textiles has 260,872 spindles for spinning yarn, six million metres a year for apparel fabrics, 1.6 million trousers a year and 3 million metres a year for home textiles fabric.
