Villgro Innovation Marketing has raised a “significant’’ seed series capital. The funding was from Unitus Seed Fund, US, and a group of angels, to power its growth track for the next two years. Villgro did not reveal the amount.
Chennai-based Villgro is a rural distribution company. It is creating an affordable and low-cost rural distribution channel for access and advisory on sustainable products in agriculture, dairy, water and energy to improve rural livelihoods.
The company aims to improve the income of one million rural households by 20-30 per cent in 15,000 villages of South India, using sustainable and environment friendly inputs, within the next five years, says a company press release.
