Bajaj Auto’s total sales during January dipped 9 per cent compared to that in the same month of last year.
The company sold 2.89 lakh bikes and three wheelers in the month against 3.18 lakh units in January 14.
The Pune-based motorcycle maker has lost out on its motorcycle numbers which saw a drop of 12 per cent with sales of 2.47 lakh units versus 2.81 lakh units. CV sales grew by 14 per cent to stand at nearly 42,000 units.
While Bajaj Auto’s exports of 1.43 lakh units were the highest for any January, exports which have been seeing good growth in the last few months grew by 4 per cent.
In early morning trade on the BSE, the company’s scrip lost nearly 2 per cent to Rs 2,344 per share when the market shed around 0.5 per cent.
