Durgapur Steel Plant, a unit of SAIL, on Tuesday said that it incorporated improved features in the revamp work of the gasholder of the basic oxygen furnace (BOF). DSP CEO P K Singh said it would improve the process efficiency and techno-economic performance in the plant.
The revamped gasholder (storage capacity 33,500 cubic meter) will have increased recovery BOF gas, a DSP statement said. BOF gas is mixed with other combustible gases produced in the plant for recycled use as fuel.
