In April, Durgapur Steel Plant of SAIL saw higher output performance.
Production of hot metal at 1.85 lakh tonne and saleable steel at 1.60 lakh tonne registered a growth of 2 per cent 9 per cent, respectively, against the corresponding month of 2011.
The production of value-added and special steels at 1.26 lakh tonnes was up 78.5 per cent.
DSP also despatched 1.48 lakh tonne of saleable steel, the best ever April figure so far.
