Quick commerce is no longer just about groceries and essentials. Fashion has quietly emerged as one of the most promising verticals for Q-commerce platforms, helping drive higher frequency, better margins, and stronger user engagement.
Players like Zepto and fashion-first startup NEWME are aggressively scaling this category, betting on hyperlocal supply chains, data-driven design, and impulse-driven consumption.
“Quick commerce today is not just solving urgent needs—it’s also catering to a trend-conscious, urban customer,” said Astha Gupta, Senior Director, Lifestyle Business at Zepto. “We are seeing growing demand for everything from everyday basics to occasion wear like festive outfits and party looks. The delivery promise remains under 25 minutes, and ticket sizes typically range between ₹500 and ₹1,500.”
Zepto has integrated fashion into its core planning and logistics processes, ensuring availability of both staple and trend-driven SKUs. “We work closely with brands to ensure sharp assortments at competitive pricing. Regional preferences are also being factored in as we deepen our hyperlocal play,” Gupta added.
NEWME, a Gen Z-focused digital-first fashion brand, is taking a more aggressive approach. The company launched ‘NEWME Zip’, a 30- to 60-minute fashion delivery service live in Delhi-NCR and Bengaluru, making it the first Indian fashion label to offer instant fulfilment at scale.
“Our tech-led demand prediction and weekly design drops keep us aligned with Gen Z preferences,” said Sumit Jasoria, Co-founder and CEO, NEWME. “The average order value is ₹1,400–₹1,600, driven by impulse buys and occasion dressing—be it for campus events, brunches or weekend travel.”
Both players have built robust reverse logistics to support easy returns and exchanges, addressing one of the key challenges in online fashion retail. Zepto enables returns within 15 minutes, while NEWME resolves most exchanges within 48 hours.
As user expectations evolve and discretionary spend shifts online, fashion is becoming a category Q-commerce players can no longer ignore. With speed as a differentiator and relevance as a lever, quick fashion could be the next big frontier in the 10-minute economy.
