Force Motors is the title sponsor for the first Rainforest Challenge (RFC) race in India, due to be organised in Goa from August 8-14.
The Pune-based maker of light commercial vehicles (LCV) recently forayed into the passenger vehicles business with the Force One SUV, and is due to launch its off-roader Force Gurkha in September.
The Rainforest Challenge was first launched in Malaysia in 1997 and is amongst the toughest motor races in the world. It has a presence in seven countries namely Italy, Australia, Russia, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Tunisia, and China.
Prasan Firodia, MD, Force Motors said “The RFC India 2014 is a great platform for the Force Gurkha. I believe the off-roading community in India is ready for intense challenges and now has a global platform to test their mettle and raise skill levels.”
Force Gurkha RFC India 2014 has four levels of increasing difficulty: Prologue, Predator, Terminator and Twilight. The participants have to complete in all 30 special stages across a multitude of obstacles.
The winning team will get an automatic entry to the RFC event in Malaysia.
