Carmaker Ford India on Tuesday reported a nearly three-fold jump in its February sales at 9,293 units on the back of the auto major’s latest small car Figo’s good response.
The company had sold 3,223 units in the same month last year, Ford India said in a statement.
“The phenomenal Figo has taken Ford to a new level in India,” Ford India President and Managing Director Michael Boneham said. The company has sold over 76,000 units of the small car since its launch last year, the statement said.
“Building on the Figo’s success, we are delighted to soon be offering our customers the all new global Fiesta, a premium sedan to India as part of our ever-growing product portfolio,” Mr Boneham said.
The introduction of the new Fiesta in India will mark the first in a series of eight new global products that Ford had announced to bring in here by the middle of this decade.
Apart from Figo, the company sells models such as the Ikon, Fiesta and Endeavour in India.
