General Motors India today posted 23.38 per cent decline in its sales at 7,285 units in July.
The company had sold 9,508 units in the same month of 2011, General Motors India said in a statement.
The company sold 534 units of small car Spark, 4,354 units of hatchback Beat, 176 units of entry-level sedan Aveo and 501 units of luxury sedan Cruze last month.
It also sold 1,615 units of multi-purpose vehicle Tavera during the month.
“The sales are not on the expected lines as the market continues to remain sluggish due to high interest rates, high fuel prices and various other factors,” the General Motors India Vice President, Mr P Balendran, said.
He added, “With market sentiments continuing to remain depressed, we are not expecting the market to show any improvement before the festival season”.
