In a bid to catch consumers’ attention during the festive season, online shopping site Groupon India today announced a ‘mystery deal’ offer, wherein it is giving three products for Rs 199 in a bag.
The customers, however, did not know what products they will get while booking the deal but the company said the total value of the bag will be much higher than what the customers has paid.
“Groupon India introduces its Mystery Deal offer. For just Rs 199, customers receive a Mystery Bag containing three products,” the company said.
The products could be anything ranging from body massagers, mobile phones, car vacuum cleaners, caps, toasters, laptop tables and bed sheets among others.
Around a month back, the shopping site had launched a seven-day deal offering onions for Rs 9 per kilogram.
“We sold 22,500 kg of onions and got 16,500 new customers as a result of the deal,” Groupon India CEO, Ankur Warikoo said.
He said the company has around 53 per cent market share in the online deals space.
Asked about the Mystery deal, Warikoo said the company has 850 bags and the offer will be on till the stocks last.
“We truly hope that this initiative receives an enthusiastic response, and sets the base for introducing more such deals in the future,” he added.
The company said only one deal can be availed per registered user. The deal is available across 78 cities in India.
