Hyundai has launched the new Sonata premium sedan priced at Rs 18.52 lakh for the manual version and Rs 20.61 lakh for the automatic variant. The car was recently shown at the Delhi Auto Expo in January.
The sixth generation Sonata takes forward the ‘Fluidic Sculpture' design philosophy already seen in its smaller sibling, Verna. Also, it is only available with a petrol engine — the 2.4 litre GDi, similar to the Honda Accord (Rs 20.28 lakh) and Toyota Camry (Rs 21.58 lakh).
Segment leader Skoda Superb (Rs 19.6 lakh), however, is also available with a diesel burner. Other features include front and rear seat ventilation, high intensity Xenon head lamps, rear view camera, LED combination rear lamp and paddle gear shifters.
For safety, there are six airbags, apart from electronic stability program with traction control system.
