IIM-Kozhikode has announced the launch of its satellite campus in Kochi. The Kochi campus will primarily focus on executive education with full-time and part-time programmes for middle and senior level executives.
The satellite campus at Kochi's Infopark will be launched by the State Chief Minister, Mr Oommen Chandy on Saturday. The Finance Minister, Mr K.M. Mani, the Industries Minister, Mr P.K. Kunhalikutty, and the Excise Minister, Mr K. Babu, will offer felicitations.
Prof Debashis Chatterjee, Director, IIM-Kozhikode, said that they had chosen Kochi in line with the need to create the right environment to facilitate the transformation of Kerala into a business hub and a preferred investment destination.
The Kochi satellite campus will be initially housed within Kochi's Infopark and will focus primarily on executive education – both long-term and short-term, as well as specialised courses for executives of IT sector.
Initially, the satellite centre will be offering one year executive MBA programme as well as two-year part-time programmes in addition to a large number of short duration management development programmes.
As the campus is located inside the Infopark, Kochi, it will directly help the executives at the park to hone their management skills, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of Indian IT sector and boost the IT sector growth, he said.
“My vision for IIM-Kozhikode is integral to the vision of Kerala as an emerging hub for young knowledge workers. IIM Kozhikode's presence in Kochi will help the state spearhead its unique positioning as an investor friendly, liberal and efficient destination for business,” Prof Chatterjee said.
