Jaguar Land Rover plans to expand its dealership network from 15 to 20 during this fiscal, Mr Rohit Suri, Head, Premier Car Division, Jaguar Land Rover India, said.
The luxury car maker today opened its 15th dealership across India and the first in Pune, this one in partnership with Ace Perkins.
“We are seeing a tremendous response and we are giving a good run to competition from German brands. So we are expanding the network and aiming to have a total of 20 dealerships during this fiscal,” Mr Suri said.
Now present in 13 cities, he added that the company was well represented in the metros and Bangalore, Surat and Aurangabad were amongst the cities being considered for expansion.
JLR sales in India during FY 12 stood at 2,300 units. Mr Suri said new models including the Jaguar XJ Ultimate and the Jaguar F2-seater sports car will be launched here soon, but declined from giving sales number for the current fiscal.
The Pune showroom spans over 12,000 square feet and has a 9-car display area. It is supported by a workshop in Wagholi which has 13 service bays as well as a body shop and paint facility. A total of 60 employees will be based at these two locations.
