Auto major Mahindra & Mahindra’s total tractor sales in April were down 13 per cent at 18,011 units as against 20,731 units in the same month last year.
Domestic tractor sales in April stood at 17,006 units as against 19,895 units in the year-ago month, down 15 per cent, the company said in a filing to BSE.
Exports during the month were at 1,005 units compared with 836 units last year, up 20 per cent, it added.
M&M President and Chief Executive (Farm Equipment and Two-Wheeler Division) Rajesh Jejurikar said: “The unseasonal rains and hailstorms have adversely affected the rabi crop output leading to negative market sentiments.”
