Mahindra & Mahindra’s Farm Equipment Sector today reported a 26 per cent decline in its total tractor sales at 14,913 units in January.
The company had sold 20,109 tractor units in the same period last year.
Domestic tractor sales stood at 13,852 units in January, down 29 per cent from 19,389 units in the year-ago month.
Exports rose by 47 per cent to 1,061 units in January as compared to 720 units in the same period last year.
“The tractor industry has been going through de-growth caused by reduced kharif crop production and lower mandi prices,” M&M FES and Two-Wheeler Division Chief Executive Rajesh Jejurikar said.
