Midhani has taken up an ambitious modernising programme with projects to manufacture strategic materials such as tungsten, setting up a wide plate mill and an armouring unit, said Dinesh Kumar Likhi, Chairman & Managing Director.

Speaking at a Customers’ Meet, he said the public sector unit’s shift from the traditional `Make to stock’ to a more aggressive `Make for anticipated orders’ was gaining traction in the industry and among customers.

The CMD of Bharat Dynamics Ltd, V Uday Bhaskar, inaugurated the event and activated the ‘Customer Service Portal’. It would provide remote access to monitor the progress of orders and facilitate interaction with manufacturing unit customers across the country.

He said Midhani was playing a critical role in providing strategic materials to all prominent sectors in the country. This was especially so in the missile sector, from wire guided anti-tank guided missiles to long-range surface-to-air missiles, in collaboration with BDL and DRDO laboratories.

The General Manager Field Gun Factory, Kanpur, Sailendra Nath, CEO of Nuclear Fuel Complex, Hyderabad, Dinesh Shrivastav and AK Negi, Inspector-General, Sashastra Seema Bal, Delhi, along with representatives from several industries, who were customers of Midhani, participated and gave their suggestions, a press release stated.
