A drop in turnover not withstanding, Phillips Carbon Black has reported 25 per cent rise in net profit to the tune of Rs 5 crore (approximately) for the quarter ended September 30, 2015. The net profit stood at Rs 4 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal.
Total income from operations, during the quarter under review, dipped by 23.4 per cent to Rs 505 crore from Rs 660 crore in the year-ago period.
In terms of revenue, both carbon black and power segments reported a fall. While carbon black segment saw a 24 per cent dip to Rs 488 crore, power division reported a 16 per drop to Rs 27 crore.
