Reliance Power has commissioned the last 300-MW unit of its Rosa Thermal Power Plant in Uttar Pradesh. 

With this, the entire 1,200-MW Rosa power plant at Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh, established at an outlay of over Rs 6,000 crore becomes fully operational. The project has been completed four months ahead of schedule.

The last unit was synchronised with the grid and achieved full load on March 28. It has the distinction of being the first thermal power plant to be commissioned in the last 20 years in Uttar Pradesh. 

Reliance Power said that the entire power generated by the project would be supplied to Uttar Pradesh and would meet over 15 per cent of the state’s power requirement. It has helped create 5,000 direct and indirect jobs.
