Rural Agri Ventures India, a business incubation firm, announced the launch ‘My Way’, a light-emitting diode (LED) product which the company says is affordable and built with energy efficient and environmentally-friendly technology.
The initiative was undertaken to contribute to India’s National Energy Conservation Movement and company estimates show that the sales of the product have saved 1.9 million kilo-watts (kW) of energy which have led to cost savings of over Rs.1.47 crore for consumers.
“The company aims at illuminating the lives of millions of Indians with clean, natural and energy efficient lighting and is committed to improving lives of Indians particularly in rural India. The company’s renewable energy business offers state of art captive, off-grid and grid connected solar power plant solutions,” said a company statement on Tuesday.
More than 35 villages in Uttar Pradesh have already been covered by the company, which is targeting 100 villages by the end of the fiscal.
Girish Aivalli, Managing Director and CEO, Rural Agri Ventures India, said that My Way was the right step since energy conservation is the first step to effective energy distribution bridging the gap between demand and supply.
“LED is the latest technology that can save energy at consumption level and at the same time improves the quality of light. It saves infinitely more electricity compares to old CFL bulbs,” he added.
