The CESC board on Tuesday appointed Sanjiv Goenka as Chairman of the company.
Sanjiv's father R.P. Goenka was the previous chairman of the company.
The board also cleared a proposal for appointing Aniruddha Basu as the new Managing Director for CESC Ltd. He takes charge from August 1 this year.
Sumantra Banerjee, the Present MD, will step down. He will, however, be re-appointed as Advisor to the Chairman.
