SkaSports Investments, which picked up a minority stake in Cambodian Football club Angkor Tiger in 2023, has seen a brisk growth in attendance and ticket sales revenue at its new stadium in the 2024-25 sporting season.

In November last year, SkaSports joined hands with Angkor Tiger to complete the construction of their own home stadium at a cost of $2 million. The team also got TVS Motors onboard as a sponsor with the automotive major’s name on the back of the jersey.

The total attendance in the stadium in the 2024/25 season stands at 22,188, an increase of around 48%, SkaSports said. The match day ticket sales revenue has increased by 71 per cent, the company noted. The company’s revenue from jersey sales and other segments is said to have increased significantly.

“The 2024-25 football season has been a hallmark in the history of the club, we are very pleased to complete construction of our very own stadium in the year we celebrate our 10th year anniversary as a club. The stadium is a hallmark to the long term commitment we make to the community of Siem Reap and Cambodian football,” Akihiro Kato, President Angkor Tiger FC, said.

Takahisa Kiyone, Chief Executive Officer Angkor Tiger FC, said: “Having our own stadium, gave us an operational flexibility to unlock new revenue streams by means of commercial partnerships, targeted sponsorship plans and curating higher ticker experiences for fans on matchdays. We have begun work on our training site now and expect to complete the work before the year is over.”

Rohit Ramesh, Director SkaSports and Director, The Hindu, said “Angkor Tiger Football Club has had a wonderful season both in sporting and non-sporting terms. The completion of the stadium has given the team more flexibility to curate matchday experiences.

Sudhir Menon, Director SkaSports & Director Angkor Tiger FC, said: “Angkor Tiger FC is now starting a new chapter in its story, our strong foundation and fantastic fan and community support inspires both the technical and commercial teams to be more ambitious and to stretch the limits of what we think is possible.”
