Agro chemical firm United Phosphorus has posted 4.8 per cent increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 212.65 crore in the first quarter ended June 30, 2014 on account of better performance of its agro business.
The company had clocked a net profit of Rs 202.91 crore in the same quarter a year-ago.
Total income increased 10.51 per cent to Rs 2,455.79 crore during April-June quarter of this financial year from Rs 2,222.15 crore in the same period last year, the company said in a filing to the BSE.
The business activities of the company are divided into two parts agro activities and non-agro activities.
United Phosphorus has 23 manufacturing sites, out of which nine are in India, four in France, two in Spain, three in Argentina, one each in UK, Vietnam, Netherlands, Italy and China.
Shares of the company were trading down by 2.88 per cent to Rs 140.05 a piece on the BSE.
