Whirlpool India targets Rs 140 cr sales turnover during Onam

Home appliances major Whirlpool India Ltd is targeting a sales turnover of Rs 140 crore during ‘Onam' festival season in Kerala. The company last year registered a business of Rs 110 crore during the festival period.

Unveiling the Onam offers, Mr Vipul Sabahrwal, Vice-President – Sales, Service and Brand, Whirlpool, said at a press conference that the annual sales being targeted this year from Kerala is Rs 240 crore against last year's Rs 220 crore. The company is also targeting a sales of 1.25 lakh units in Onam sales .

The company has also unveiled its mega consumer offer – Santhoshangalude Grihapravesham – for the upcoming festive season wherein the customer can win a ready-to-move-in luxury apartment in Kochi worth Rs 30 lakh by Asset Homes. The winners of this contest will be announced through a lucky draw on September 30.

In addition, Whirlpool is also launching a customer contest wherein the customers are invited to write a slogan on ‘Happiness begins at my home with Whirlpool because …' and send in their entries along with their family photograph. The best entries will get an opportunity to be featured in a Whirlpool advertising campaign, he said.

The company is all set to spread the magic of Onam celebrations around the city with its branded house shaped mobile vans which will showcase exclusive range of products. Also, taking forward the special social initiative ‘Ek Jodi Kapada' from last year, where the company had joined hands with Goonj, NGO and would facilitate clothes collection for underprivileged. The carton boxes have been placed at all the major dealer outlets in Kerala for collecting clothes.
