Anna University’s Center for University Industry collaboration (CUIC) said on Thursday that 72 students from the University have got job offers from two Japanese companies - Thirdwave Corporation and Koganei Seiki Co., Ltd.
The annual salary package for the selected students is around ₹20 lakhs, a release from the University said.
Thirdwave recruited 62 students as Software Engineers in the AI Development Department. Before they start working in Japan from October 2025, the company plans to train the students in Japanese language, soft skills and technical aspects for three months in Chennai. During this training period, a training allowance (stipend) will also be paid, the release said.
Koganei hired ten students to work as Technical Engineers in the field of Production technology, machining and product inspection. Japanese Training is planned for all the students in Chennai for three months before they join in Japan, the release said.
The recruitment process began in November 2024 and more than 450 students applied. The selection consisted of several rigorous stages, including resume review, written exams, and technical interviews, all of which were directly carried out and coordinated by the CUIC team and Japanese companies.
