Home appliances maker Whirlpool has posted a 26 per cent decline in its net profit at Rs 51.05 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2011, compared to Rs 64.20 crore in the corresponding period a year ago.
The net sales declined by 7.76 per cent at Rs 790.50 crore from Rs 857.08 crore posted in the year-ago period.
For the year-end March 2011, the company's net profit was Rs 166.04 crore and net sales at Rs 2,611.93 crore.
Shares of Whirlpool of India were trading at Rs 213 on the BSE, up 0.42 per cent from the previous close.
