Amusement park operator Wonderla Holidays Ltd has inaugurated a ₹40-crore attraction ‘Mission Interstellar,’ a space flying ride experience, at its facility in Hyderabad.

Inaugurated in April 2016, Wonderla Hyderabad hasseen investment of about ₹300 crore, which includes ₹40 crore for this latest project. Spread over 50 acres, it offers 43 rides. The park is located near the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.

Arun K Chittilappilly, Managing Director, Wonderla Holidays, said: “Mission Interstellar is our latest and most advanced ride ever created.”

Developed in collaboration with leading US and European theme park design companies, the ride installation and integration was managed by Wonderla Engineering team.

Its technical features include large 3,500 sq ft parabolic screen, 4K resolution laser projector, hydraulic lift seating system for 60 pax from Italy to make the ride real and immersive. Guests board the ride vehicle that lifts them 40 ft up into the dome and the film is projected onto the giant dome screen so that the projected images completely fill the viewer’s field of vision.

The “floating/flying” movement of the ride vehicle is synchronised with the film, projected using a high-tech laser projector, resulting in a fully immersive. In addition to the ride movements, environmental effects like wind and so on, are provided to create a realistic flying experience.
