“Develop a positive attitude and learn to recognise the opportunities that come your way to emerge successful in life,” said Dr Priya Raj, Chief Health Officer (in-charge), Madurai Corporation.

She was addressing at the seventh National Management Day and 57th AIMA Foundation Day Celebrations of All India Management Association, held in association with Business Line Club in the city recently. The event was sponsored by Tamilnad Mercantile Bank, Tuticorin.

She said that attitude is the foundation for success in life. Environment, experience and education are the major factors that determine one’s attitude in responding to others. A positive attitude helps to view things in the right perspective and tackle them as required. One should realise that life is a continuous education process and a value-based education gives the strength to face the hurdles and improves one’s compassion towards others and discharge one’s duties successfully.

Earlier, P. Rethinavelu, AGM, Customer Service Cell, TMB, Tuticorin, in his special address, observed that students entering the corporate world should face the challenges with courage, confidence and determination.

They need to identify special skills in them and improve them to withstand the competition. M. Shunmugasundaram, Secretary of Madurai Management Association which organised the event, in his address said that several motivational programmes will be organised in future at the colleges by the association along with Business Line Club and Tamilnad Mercantile Bank.

Students and faculty members of the Department of Management Studies from Madurai, Dindigul, Thanjavur and several other places in Tamil Nadu, participated.

A paper presentation contest was organised for the faculty members of management studies on the topic, ‘How to teach human values in management’ .Cultural programmes and talent shows followed.
