A 6.6-magnitude earthquake hit Indonesia’s Aceh province on Sumatra island today, the Indonesian Meteorological and Geophysics Agency said.

The quake struck 24 kilometres northwest of Subulussalam town in Aceh at 11:34 am (0434 GMT) at a depth of 103 kilometres, the agency said.

“The quake’s epicentre was on land. There are no reports of damage so far,” agency official Mr Dedi Sugianto said.
