The Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) re-launched its website www.goachamber.org on Wednesday.

Immediate past President, Mr Cesar Menezes, launched it in the presence of the present President, Mr Manguirish Pai Raiker, members of the Managing Committee and others.

As a part of its effort to provide a better service to its members as well as to reach out to a larger audience, GCCI has revamped its website.

New features

Links to various government sites, categorisation of industries into Red, Orange and Green as notified by the Goa government, and a section on trade opportunities, prospective incubation opportunities at GCCI's Goa IT Innovation Centre (GITIC), download-facility of application form from the Chamber's website, a quick reference guide to help start-up companies to understand steps to be followed in registering new companies, etc, are some of the new features of the upgraded website.

Forum planned

The GCCI is contemplating to start a forum/ blog to allow its members and other public to express their opinion on issues pertaining to Goa's industry and trade.

A list of FAQs (frequently asked questions) while applying for Chamber's membership will be added to the website shortly.

There will also be a guide on how to register a company with the IT department of Goa government.

This is significant in view of the fact that only companies registered with the IT dept will be eligible for incentives under the IT Policy.

Other distinctive features of the website include a currency converter as well as a window showing Goa's weather.
