An integrated online application system developed by the Thane District Collectorate would be extended to the entire state from May 1, the Maharashtra Government has announced.
The announcement was made by the Revenue Minister, Mr Balasaheb Thorat, while launching the system here on Friday night.
He lauded the efforts put in by the team of the Collectorate to develop the online application, which will speed up the issuance of key documents by the Revenue Department.
Under the dedicated system called Indradhanu, citizens can apply for documents and certificates online. The documents will be issued within a period of three days. But the issuance of caste certificates will take seven days as it involves verification by certain officials, officials said.
“This system will surely go a long way in saving time for a lot of the citizens, especially those from the remote areas, in apply and getting certificates,” Mr Thorat said.
The system is the brainchild of the District Collector, Mr Abasaheb Jarhad.
