The Tobacco Board at the end of 108th day of auctions has marketed 74 per cent of the 100 million kg fixed for Karnataka. The Board has marketed 73.67 million kg.

According to a senior tobacco board official, the crop arrival at various auction platforms has been steady at a daily average of 10,000 bales.

“In the last one month, Medium and low grade tobacco prices at the Karnataka auctions have appreciated marginally by Rs 10,” he added.

At the end of the 108th day of auction (Monday), about 73.67 million kg (7,25,592 lakh bales) of FCV tobacco variety were marketed in Karnataka, with an average price of Rs 95.57/kg.

Grades

Of the total quantity marketed, bright grades comprised of 13 million kg and were traded at an average price of Rs 118.93 a kg. Medium grades made up 38 million kg, traded at an average price of Rs 103.65 a kg. Low grades, of 22 million kg traded at an average price of Rs 68 a kg.

Auction Platforms

Following are platform-wise auction details, as on Monday: HD Kote 74,521 bales marketed (8.50 million kg), average price Rs 93.04/kg. Hunsur-I 41,570 bales (5.40 million kg), Rs 97.90/kg.

Hunsur-II 61,810 bales (7.50 million kg), Rs 96.45/kg. Periyapatna-I 82,975 bales (12.49 million kg), Rs 96.66/kg.

Periyapatna-II 77,958 bales (10.68 million kg), Rs 98.99/kg. Periyapatna-III 70,495 bales (10.19 million kg), Rs 95.78/kg. Ramanathpura-I 76,466 bales (9.67 million kg), Rs 93.46/kg.

Kampalapura-I 68,511 bales (9.35 million kg), Rs 96.79/kg. Kampalapura-II 58,270 bales (8.30 million kgs), 95.91/kg. Ramanathpura-II 70,367 bales (10.04 million kg) Rs 91.71/kg. Hunsur-III 42,649 bales (5.83 million kgs) Rs 95.33/kg.
