The Supreme Court on Wednesday maintained a status quo on a petition filed by Vipul Chaudhary challenging the Gujarat High Court order. Last week, the high court had allowed a no-confidence motion moved by the majority of the members of the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd (GCMMF) against him.
Maintaining a status-quo on the matter, the Supreme Court ordered that the implementation decision has not been interfered with as of now and the mater was posted for listing after two weeks.
“The status quo has been ordered by the Supreme Court. So, there can’t be any appointment of new chairman of GCMMF till the next hearing,” said a source.
However, at the same time, the court did not interfere with the proceedings regarding the implementation of the order of removal of the GCMMF Chairman.
Meanwhile, the court further ordered that the reference pending before the division bench of Gujarat High Court was not stayed and the same can be proceeded with.
The GCMMF had argued before the court that the board resolution removing Chaudhary was already implemented on January 11.
Chaudhary has challenged the Gujarat High Court order that dismissed his appeal against the implementation of the no confidence motion moved by the board members.
On December 5 last year, the Board of Directors of GCMMF had unanimously passed a no confidence motion against Chaudhary without stating any specific reason.
