There was a mixed mood in turmeric trade as spot prices decreased at Erode markets, while on the futures prices went up. Turmeric prices were up ₹100 to ₹7,634 per quintal in futures trade today after traders raised bets, taking positive cues from the physical market on better export demand.
On the spot, for the fourth consecutive day prices declined. RKV Ravishankar, a trader, said, 8,500 bags of the spice arrived for sale and 60 per cent of them were sold.Regarding the price, finger variety lost ₹200 a quintal and the root variety was down by ₹100 in all the markets.
