Software Engineering Institute (SEI) of the US-based Carnegie Mellon University has accepted Kerala-based Network Systems and Technologies (NeST) as a partner.

As an SEI Partner, NeST is licensed to provide official SEI services in Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI), a company spokesman said here.

Quality level

“We are pleased to welcome NeST as an SEI Partner,” he quoted Ms Lisa Masciantonio, manager of the SEI Partner Network, as saying.

“Our partners are a valuable extension of the SEI, helping to meet the demand for SEI courses and services worldwide with a level of quality that matches the SEI’s own.”

Mr N. Jehangir, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, NeST group, said that this reflected NeST’s capability in delivering quality services.

It is a major boost to the consultancy and training services that NeST has to offer to its clients, while consolidating NeST’s reputation as a frontrunner in software quality.

SEI partners are trained, evaluated, and selected by the SEI and are the only source of official SEI courses and services from outside the SEI.

SEI Partners provide courses, appraisal services, and/or coaching services in one or more of the following areas:

Capability Maturity Model Integration, software architecture, software engineering measurement and analysis, and the ‘team software process.’

Technology transition

The aim of the transition programme is to provide leadership in the transition of new software engineering technologies to software development companies.

As a transition partner, NeST is authorised to conduct CMMI SCAMPI appraisals. This will greatly benefit the software industry in Kerala, which can now access the NeST software engineering capabilities for pursuing CMMI appraisal programmes.

NeST Software is a technology company which offers customised software and hardware development services for engineering applications and product development services for customers worldwide.

NeST Software is the software division of SFO Technologies and is part of the NeST Group of companies'. NeST has business operations in the United States, Canada, Japan, Germany, Sweden, UK and West Asia, apart from a presence in the domestic market.
