The Punjab government on Tuesday reiterated its claim on the proposed international airport coming up in Chandigarh, maintaining that the site was located in the State itself.
“The airport is in Punjab and nobody can deny it,” the Deputy Chief Minister, Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal, told reporters here. Neighbouring Haryana has also been demanding its inclusion as a partner State in the project.
The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda, had recently said there was no dispute with the Punjab government on the naming of the proposed international airport at Chandigarh.
The Aviation Ministry has listed both Haryana and Punjab as equal partners in the project.
