To clear the extra traffic, the Salem Division of Southern Railways has proposed to run two special trains on the Coimbatore-Chennai Central-Coimbatore sector. The advance reservations for the trains commenced today.
Train no 06032 – Chennai Central–Coimbatore super fast special train - will leave from Central Station in Chennai at 10.30 pm hours on May 22 and 29 (Friday) and reach Coimbatore the following morning at 6.40 am. It will stop at Arakkonam, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Tirupur, and Coimbatore North.
The premium super fast special train (no 00604) will leave Coimbatore at 23.30 hours on May 24 and 31 (Sunday) and reach Chennai Central the following morning at 7.15 am. This train will stop at Tirpur, Erode, Salem, Jolarpettai and Arakkonam.
Both these trains will have an AC 2-tier coach, two AC 3-tier coaches, 12 sleeper class, and a luggage-cum-brake van.
