S. Anantha Chandra Bose today assumed charge as Chairman of V.O. Chidambaranar Port Trust (formerly Turicorin Port Trust). He was the port’s traffic manager between 2002 and 2007.
Bose was previously deputy chairman of Paradip Port Trust and before that he was the chief port administrator of Andaman & Nicobar Administration.
Bose said in a press release, V.O. Chidambaranar port will uphold the commitment to achieve the Shipping Ministry’s target of 30 million tonnes (mt). The port will augment its capacity to 85 mt from 33.34 mt through various pubic-private-partnership projects to by 2015-16.
