The Lok Sabha suspended eight Congress members from Andhra Pradesh for disrupting the proceedings of the House over the sensitive issue of creating a separate Telangana. All the MPs are from the Telangana region of the State. A motion to suspend the MPs was passed in the lower House after a voice vote. Both the BJP and the CPI (M) said it is the ruling Congress that creating ruckus in Parliament. The Congress justified the move saying that the House is seized off “equally important” issues and frequent disruptions over Telangana cannot be justified. The Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Mr Pawan Kumar Bansal, moved a resolution demanding the suspension of Mr Ponnam Prabhakar, Mr Madhu Yaskhi Goud, Mr M. Jagannath, Mr K.R.G. Reddy, Mr G. Viveknanda, Mr Balram Naik, Mr Sukender Reddy Gutha and Mr S. Rajaiah for four days. The eight Congress MPs have been demanding the creation of a separate Telangana State in Parliament during the last few sessions.
