The recommendation of the West Bengal Government for the proposed IT-Special Economic Zone at Rajarhat not been received as yet. This information was given by Mr Jyotiradiya M. Scindia, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, in a written reply in Lok Sabha on Monday.
He said Wipro Ltd had submitted an application dated January 20, 2012 for setting up of a sector-specific SEZ for IT/ITeS over on area of 20.24 hectares (50 acre) at Rajarhat, Kolkata, with the proposed investment of Rs 325 crore and proposed employment of 8,000 persons.
