Rajarhat and New Town — both in the northern fringes of the city — continue to remain as the most searched destinations of 2012.
According to search trends by >99acres.com , an online portal, both Rajarhat and New Town continue to occupy the buyer’s fancies last year.
Other areas of the city that were preferred by the buyers include EM Bypass and Salt Lake in the East; Tollygunge, Garia, Kasba and Behala in the South; and Baguihati, Barasaat, Lake Town, VIP Road and Dum Dum in the North.
According to a release by 99acres, the real estate in Kolkata has been on track for a steady growth and is one of the stable performing markets in the region. There have been new launches which coupled with infrastructure development is aiding growth.
In terms of renting out of properties, Salt Lake — on the eastern part of the city — featured as the most preferrable destination.
New Town, Tollygunge, Rajarhat, Gariahat along with some other areas remain popular localities for renting purposes in the city.
