Kolkata-based data analytics start-up, Abzooba, is looking at a 400 per cent increase in headcount to 500 by 2016. It currently has a headcount of 100.
According to Rajiv Pratap, Co-Founder, Abzooba, the company is targeting revenues of $100 million (or ₹600 crore) by December 2016.
“Apart from the US, we are also exploring the possibility of catering to Indian clients and expanding our presence here. We want to increase the headcount to 500 by 2016,” he told reporters on the sidelines of the “IT @ Bengal Conclave” organised by the Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
Currently, 90 per cent of Abzooba’s business is from the US markets. Apart from Kolkata, it has two research and development facilities, one each in Pune and Bangalore.
The company began operations in 2010, and obtained the first round of funding last year when it raised around $6 million (approximately ₹36 crore).
Its angel investors and seed funding include Webel (the IT investment arm of the West Bengal government), IIT-Kharagpur and a Kolkata-based investor.
