What does the Rufous hummingbird, a pair of Japanese macaque, Puffer fish, Dung beetle and the Moon jelly fish have in common? Well, they are all a part of Google’s animated doodle celebrating Earth Day 2014.

Search-engine major, Google’s doodle celebrates the 44th occasion of Earth Day that began in 1970.

The doodle begins with the animated Rufous hummingbird hovering over flowers.

Clicking on it throws up the next slide which has an image of any of the other species - Japanese macaque, Puffer fish, Dung beetle and the Moon jelly fish.

The mouse-over text reads, "The… wishes you a happy Earth Day 2014!"

The doodle has a share button (for Twitter, Facebook and Google+) and also a read button to take to the next slide.

The search button directs a user to a page on the respective animal species.
