Global enterprise software player Infor plans to invest $20–30 million in its India business over the next few years, according to Terry Smagh – Senior Vice-President & General Manager (APAC & Japan) at Infor. As part of this investment, the company will establish a data centre in India in collaboration with its hyperscaler partner AWS. The facility, expected to be operational in the first half of 2026, will involve an investment of up to $2 million.

The US-based company set up a development centre in Hyderabad in 2022, which houses the company’s R&D, support, development, and delivery teams. It currently employs over 4,000 people there and aims to expand the workforce to 7,000 by 2027. Globally, the company has 18,000 employees.
“We are investing in the growth in India. We put a large team here, which has grown at least five times in the last two years. This market is crucial, even from an engagement standpoint. We are also setting up data centres and have one here in India,” Smagh said.
The company caters to several verticals including automotive, food and beverage (F&B), manufacturing, and processing. However, Infor has also gone beyond just being industry-specific, shared Phil Lewis, Senior Vice-President, of Solution & Consulting (EMEA & APJ).
“Globally, from a technology perspective, every vendor will say that they are industry-specific but still require modification and customisation. We fundamentally think that’s wrong. So, we have gone beyond being industry-specific. For example, in the F&B industry, we provide solutions to dairy, bakery, or a protein manufacturer. This is what we mean by micro vertical-specific,” he said.
He added that the company’s development centres in Hyderabad and Manila, among others, and customer support organisations, are structured by specific industries.
“When you put all of that together -- industry-specific ERP, best-in-class applications like warehouse management, and advanced technology like AI and automation and process mining, combined with the people, we get to this place where we are industry complete. Hence, we are an industry cloud-complete organisation. It is not just about features and functions anymore but beyond that,” Lewis emphasised.
