Semi-conductor manufacturer Intel on Thursday raised its revenue forecast for the second quarter and the full year, on stronger-than-expected PC sales.

Sales for the April-to-June period were now expected to be $13.7 billion, within a range of $300 million either way, up from the previous range of $13.0 billion plus or minus 500 million.

Revenue for 2014 was also expected to grow slightly year-on-year, an improvement on the previous prognosis of flat sales figures, driven “mostly by strong demand for business PCs,” the company said in a statement.

Intel’s focus on personal computers for home and business use has seen its sales threatened by the rise of mobile and tablet devices.
