Global provider of customer contact solutions and product support services, iQor, on Tuesday said it was tying up with Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI) and Centum Learning for skill development training.

The company also announced an investment of $200 million (around ₹1,300 crore) over the next three-five years to expand its market in India, which includes hiring around 20,000 employees.

“We are signing memoranda of understanding with Centum and ESSCI for skill development training wherein these organisations will provide curriculum and training methods,” Sanjay Vidyarthi, Managing Director, iQor India, told reporters here.

Going forward, he said the company would sign up more partners such as National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).

The company has clients, such as Apple, Micromax, Karbonn, Airtel, Hewlett Packard, Indus Towers, Ericsson, Videocon and Tata. As the market grows, iQor would require more manpower to serve its customers, it said.

“India is the world’s fastest growing major economy and is projected to be the second largest smartphone market by 2016. With our own in-house technology, we will provide services to customers,” Hartmut Liebel, Global Chief Executive Officer, iQor said.

He said a majority of the company’s investments go into developing its own systems such as customer relationship management and workforce management.

The company has already spent around $50 million over the past few years and has 4,000 employees with facilities in Manesar, Mumbai, Kolkata and Bengaluru. It has company-owned walk-in centres in 82 cities and 17 States serving multi-brand products.
