Google’s Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 that run on the ‘pure’ Android platform are now available on the Google Play store in India.
The Nexus 5 is a mobile phone, and the Nexus 7, a tablet.
The Nexus 5 that has the latest Android 4.4 (KitKat) comes in two variants — with 16 GB and 32 GB memories. The 16 GB version is priced at Rs 28,999 and the 32 GB at Rs 32,999.
The Nexus 7 has three variants. The 16 GB version, which runs only on wi-fi, is priced at Rs 20,999. The 32 GB wi-fi version costs Rs 23,999 and the model that can run both on wi-fi and GSM networks is priced at Rs 27,999.
Nexus 5
Google says the "advanced new lens on Nexus 5 captures more light for brighter night and sharper action shots" and has optical image stabilisation. It also comes with HDR mode for burst pictures.
Photo Sphere helps capture of 360° panaroma view.
Nexus 5, made by LG, supports 4G/LTE and wi-fi, and is powered by 2.26 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon™ 800 processor.
Nexus 7
Nexus 7 features dual stereo speakers and surround sound powered by Fraunhofer.
Nexus 7 is made by ASUS and has a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon™ S4 Pro processor and 2 GB of RAM.
The 7" display weighs 0.64 lbs (0.66 lbs LTE), and claims up to 9 hours of HD video playback and 10 hours of web browsing or e-reading.
