Google Play is now accessible to you by using your smartphone’s or tablet’s browser, meaning not only more convenience for the Android users, but also allowing iPhone and Windows Phone users to peek at the goodies.
This represents progress compared to the days when the download and sales platform for apps, music and other media could only be accessed via a special app on Android smartphones and tablets.
The only alternative then was to fire up a PC and run its browser.
The advance means the platform can now be accessed even if you use a non-Android system for your mobile device, like iOS or Windows Phone.
Of course iPhone users still cannot buy and download Android apps, but they might want to browse them out of curiosity.
The new mobile portal is similar in design and user interface to the Google Play app, notes US blog Android Police.
In some markets, users can even order devices from Google Play, like Nexus smartphones or Google’s Chromecast streaming stick, when using the website.
