Finally, the wait is over. Search engine major Google on Tuesday came out with its first-ever interactive doodle for the London Olympics 2012.
The doodle features hurdle racing and actually allow users to have a feel of the event.
Hurdles racing like normal racing features athletes jumping over a series of obstacles that are called “hurdles’’. Typically, a hurdles race has 10 such hurdles, irrespective of the distance involved — 100 m or 200 m or 400 m.
The doodle itself is actually a game, where the users try to ensure the athlete complete the distance at the lowest possible speed.
Rapidly alternating the left and right keys on the computer, an user makes the athlete in the game run faster while the space bar can be used to jump over the hurdles.
This is Google’s twelfth doodle in the Olympic series. It celebrated the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics with five athletes playing different Olympic Games.
Google already has a history rich of having Olympics-related doodles. In 2008, there was a doodle celebrating the opening ceremony of the Bejing Olympics in August. Each day in 2008 saw different Google doodles being released.
