SAP has gained a share of 49 per cent in mobile enterprise application development platform (enterprise MADP) market.
In its latest analysis, research firm IDC has said the enterprise MADP market is in a period of rapid growth, driven by major technology trends in consumer and enterprise markets.
IDC estimated that total market reached a size of $938.5 million in 2012. The market will experience a compounded annual growth rate of 38.7 per cent to reach $4.8 billion by 2017.
The Worldwide Mobile Enterprise Application Development Platform 2013–2017 Forecast and 2012 Vendor Shares said that the nearest competitor (to SAP) has less than 5.8 per cent share in 2012, a SAP statement said, quoting the report.
“Organizations are beginning to embrace enterprise mobility in 2013 and are eager to build applications that improve customer engagement and employee productivity,” Stacy Crook, research director (Mobile Enterprise Research) of IDC, said.
