Social media giant Facebook had agreed to acquire the video advertising platform LiveRail in a deal announced on Wednesday.
LiveRail is a video and technology platform that connects video online publishers like Major League Baseball or A&E Networks with marketers to serve better ads in the videos that appear on their Web sites and apps, Facebook said.
“We believe that LiveRail, Facebook and the premium publishers it serves have an opportunity to make video ads better and more relevant for the hundreds of millions of people who watch digital video every month.”
Facebook advertising and marketing executive Brian Boland said, “More relevant ads will be more interesting and engaging to people watching online video, and more effective for marketers, too.” The price of the deal was not disclosed.
LiveRail was founded in 2007.
